Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a part-time Perioperative RN to provide independent nursing care in the OR/Perioperative setting. You will perform the nursing process, assess patients, plan and implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes to manage surgical cases.

You will administer medications and therapies according to protocol, monitor for side effects, document thoroughly, and educate patients and families about care plans and post-operative needs.

Qualifications

• Uses nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation.
• BSN preferred.
• 1 year experience in related nursing specialty preferred.
• ACLS required
• BLS required
• RN license in state of employment or compact.

Responsibilities

• Provides routine and complex nursing care.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors effects.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given.
• Addresses learning needs and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers.
