Job summary

Westchester Medical Center is seeking an experienced OR Registered Nurse to collaborate with surgeons, scrub techs and anesthesia providers. You will assess, plan and document nursing care for surgical patients and ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

The role emphasizes perioperative nursing expertise, patient education, and coordination with multiple departments, including discharge planning. NY RN licensure and BLS are required, CNOR preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ OR nursing experience.
• Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Current New York State RN licensure.
• Current BLS certification; CNOR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to OR patients across surgical procedures.
• Assess physical, psychological and spiritual patient status; document care.
• Develop and annotate a care plan; communicate with care team.
• Educate patients and families about medications and treatments.
• Coordinate care with departments; participate in discharge planning.
• Maintain sterile technique and proper handling of specimens.
• Ensure safety, handoffs, and adherence to hospital policies.
