Job summary

Montefiore Nyack Hospital seeks an on-site Operating Room Nurse to provide direct perioperative care before, during, and after surgical procedures. You will prepare the OR, verify patient information and consents, and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and surgical technologists to ensure safety and quality.

The role requires NY RN license, BLS/ACLS, and perioperative experience; commitment to sterile technique, patient education, and teamwork in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license in good standing.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Prior operating room/perioperative nursing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and perioperative safety.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking and clinical decision skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct perioperative nursing care before, during and after surgery.
• Prepare operating room, verify patient information and consent.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and surgical staff.
• Maintain sterile technique and monitor patient status.
• Document care per hospital and regulatory standards.
