Job summary

Westchester Medical Center Health Network in New York is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. You will collaborate with surgeons, scrub techs, and anesthesia providers, and ensure safe patient care before, during, and after procedures.

You will document nursing actions, educate patients and families, participate in discharge planning, and uphold nursing standards across shifts in a high-acuity perioperative team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in an Operating Room.
• Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care to patients by assessing their physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual status.
• Develops a plan of care and annotates medical records in accordance with procedures and regulations.
• Includes patients and family in care planning and discharge planning with other providers.
• Performs comprehensive assessments and administers treatments, medications, and general care as per plan.
• Coordinates care with other departments to ensure timely services and patient safety.
