Job summary

Prime Healthcare in Joliet, IL, is seeking a Staff RN to work in the Operating Room. The role supports perioperative patient care from pre-op through post-op under the supervision of the OR Charge Nurse and Surgical Services leadership.

Requirements include an active state RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, plus at least one year of perioperative experience or on-the-job training. CNOR and BSN are preferred; shift is full-time with 9:00 am–9:00 pm hours and call.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training
• Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care in the perioperative setting through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Coordinate patient care with the surgeon and anesthesiologist and direct OR staff to ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, participate in performance improvement activities and serve as a resource for staff wherever needed.
