Job summary

Townsen Memorial Surgery Center - Med Center in Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Operating Room team. The RN will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced environment, supporting the surgical team and ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Requirements include a current and active Texas RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS or obtainable within 90 days, and at least one year of intra-operative care experience. The role emphasizes teamwork, documentation, and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current, active Texas RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• One year of intra-operative care experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops and updates care plans with patient and family using nursing process.
• Follows nursing processes and adapts care to patient condition.
• Demonstrates clinical problem solving and critical thinking.
• Communicates effectively with health care team.
• Prepare operating room according to procedures and patient needs.
• Supervise patient care in the operating room and manage room workflow.
• Ensure patient privacy, safety, and documentation accuracy.
• Assist with identification of operative site and post-procedure care.
