Job summary

OakLeaf Surgical Hospital is seeking a Perioperative Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care for operative and invasive procedures in a Wisconsin facility. The role involves pre-op education, IV starts, monitoring during procedures, and post-operative instructions.

You will uphold HIPAA and Universal Protocol guidelines while collaborating with anesthesia and surgical teams. The position requires an ADN, WI RN license, BLS, and ability to obtain ACLS/PALS within six months.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for employment in the U.S.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program required
• Current RN licensure in the State of Wisconsin
• BLS certification is required upon hire
• Must be able to achieve ACLS and PALS certification within six months of hire
• Previous perioperative or general nursing experience preferred
• Must possess a cell phone that interfaces with the organization’s secure messaging system

Responsibilities

• Advocate for patients’ rights, preferences, and needs while delivering compassionate care
• Assess patient health problems with the healthcare team to plan and evaluate care
• Provide direct patient care and administer medications as prescribed
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, medications, and post-operative care
• Prepare patients for outpatient procedures, including testing and IV insertion
• Monitor and document patient status, vital signs, and responses
• Ensure infection control and universal protocol compliance during procedures
• Document assessments, interventions, and care in the EMR
• Support anesthesia recovery in PACU
• Coordinate pre- and post-surgical instructions with patients and families
