Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL seeks nurses to join our perioperative services, part of a large, dynamic surgical department with over 60 operating suites and high-tech capabilities. You’ll apply the nursing process to promote health and prevent illness across pre- and post-operative care.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited nursing program, preferred Bachelor's in Nursing, and current Alabama RN license. BLS is required or obtained within 30 days; ACLS/PALS may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current Alabama RN license required or eligible.
• BLS certification required or obtainable within 30 days.
• ACLS/PALS may be required depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to care for patients and counsel on health promotion and illness prevention.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to coordinate care.
• Delegate, coordinate, and manage nursing care for patients and families timeliness and cost-effectiveness.
