UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL seeks an experienced OR nurse to provide professional nursing care in the operative setting for patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures. You will perform scrub and circulating duties, assist the operating physician, and ensure patient safety before, during, and after procedures.

The role requires an Alabama RN license and a nursing diploma with licensure at the time of hire; BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing required before hire date.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and professional licensure at time of hire required.

Responsabilités

• Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting for surgical or invasive procedures.
• Perform scrub functions selecting and handling instruments and supplies.
• Perform circulating functions including monitoring and communicating patient condition during procedures.
• Directly assist surgeon with hemostasis, suturing and exposure; assist with patient positioning.
