Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texas seeks a competent Nurse in a perioperative/OR setting. You will practice independently, apply the nursing process, and delegate as needed to support clinical decisions.

Requires BSN (preferred), RN license (state or compact), and BLS; ACLS/PALS certifications are also required. Perioperative residency or recent OR experience is preferred, with PRN work and on-call considerations.

Qualifications

• Nursing process application in patient care.
• Orientation requirements for new hires: 30 days.
• Newly hired RNs must complete designated competency validations.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, families and caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
