CHRISTUS Children's in San Antonio, TX seeks an experienced nurse to provide independent, high-quality nursing care in a similar clinical setting. You will participate in long-range planning, delegate appropriately, and contribute to contingency management for complex cases.

Requirements include a BSN (preferred), 1 year of related nursing experience, and ACLS/PALS certification. New nurses orientation and perioperative residency experiences are noted in the policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• 1 year nursing experience in related specialty preferred.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required.

Responsabilités

• Meets expectations of the CHRISTUS competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors side effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients and families.
