Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is hiring a Staff Registered Nurse (RN) to support the OR, ensuring patient safety and coordinating a sterile, efficient intraoperative environment. You will anticipate the surgical team's needs, supervise nonprofessional staff, and maintain high standards of asepsis and patient care.

The role requires an accredited nursing degree, WA RN licensure, BLS, ACLS (or ability to obtain within 3 months), and 6+ months perioperative experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Active Registered Nurse license through the Washington State Department of Health.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare providers (AHA).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
• 6+ months of perioperative nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess the health status of the patient to develop an individualized plan of care.
• Develop and implement a nursing care plan based on assessment.
• Instruct the patient and family to assist the patient in achieving optimal health status.
• Document nursing activities for continuity of care and accountability.
• Identify patient to ensure correct patient, procedure and operative site.
• Position the patient and coordinate transfer to protect patient and staff safety.
• Establish and maintain a sterile field and environment to prevent infection.
• Collaborate with the surgical team and support staff to ensure safe intraoperative care.
