Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required; 3+ years RN experience if using Associate Degree.
• Current Texas RN licensure or reciprocity.
• CPR Certification required and must be maintained.
• BLS Certification required and must be maintained.
• Completion of unit-specific orientation within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Delivers nursing care to an assigned group of patients including education, treatment planning, pain management and discharge planning.
• Collects data, analyzes quality indicators related to outpatient to post-procedure transitions; helps develop improvement measures.
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with OR Ops, Cancer Committee, and other health care teams.
• Pre- and post-procedure education for patients, families and caregivers; coordinates scheduling procedures including financial/medical necessity requirements.
• Ensures nursing standards and regulatory guidelines are followed; coordinates with physician staff for surgical needs.
