Job summary

Mercy is seeking a skilled peri-operative nurse to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for surgical patients. You will coordinate with physicians and staff, oversee operating room services, and ensure adherence to safety and infection control policies.

Strong communication and leadership potential are valued as Mercy emphasizes team-based care and patient advocacy. The role requires RN licensure in the state, nursing school graduation, and typically OR or medical-surgical experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and active RN license in the practicing state.
• Successful completion of medication administration math competency test.
• One year medical-surgical and/or OR experience preferred.
• CPR/ACLS certification or scheduled in next class.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate peri-operative patient care per plan of care and policies.
• Communicate findings to relevant team members and document in medical records.
• Oversee care provided by ancillary and other professional personnel; ensure safety and infection control policies.
• Develop collaborative relationships with physicians and interdepartmental staff; participate in OR marketing to medical staff.
