Job summary

Hartford HealthCare’s Manchester Memorial Hospital is seeking a Perioperative Preference Card Manager to standardize and maintain surgical cards across procedures using EPIC. This role emphasizes accuracy, workflow improvement, and cross-team collaboration.

You will lead audits, update processes, and partner with surgeons, nursing leads, and service lines to meet clinical needs while identifying opportunities for efficiency and waste reduction in the perioperative environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of perioperative experience.
• RN-Registered Nurse license in Connecticut.

Responsibilities

• Manage creation and maintenance of surgical preference cards in EPIC for all procedures.
• Develop systems to add, review, update, eliminate, and archive preference cards.
• Implement audits, process improvement projects, and targeted communications for data accuracy.
• Facilitate clinician audits of preference cards to verify clinical accuracy.
• Conduct review sessions with service lines, surgeons, and nursing leads to evaluate needs.
• Manage the process for identifying needs and creating new preference cards for new surgeons.
• Research new and existing items to ensure accurate maintenance of preference cards.
• Conduct inventory utilization and waste analysis, presenting findings for improvements.
• Review and update existing preference cards in the Epic system to reflect surgeon requests.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
