Job summary

The Orthopedic and Robotic Surgical Services at Albany Medical Center seeks a full-time Physician Assistant to join our busy Perioperative Surgical team. You will work with renowned surgeons and staff while gaining hands-on exposure to robotic technology, including DaVinci Xi, dv5, and Mako inOrthopedics robotics, assisting a broad range of surgical specialties.

This role emphasizes mentorship, ongoing professional development, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant degree program or Master’s in NP with RNFA training.
• Must be licensed and actively registered as a PA or NP in New York State.
• Ability to quickly master a computerized medical recordkeeping and billing system.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
• HIPAA compliance at all times.
• ACLS/BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative care for surgical patients.
• Assist surgeons during a wide range of procedures, including robotic assistance in multiple specialties.
• Perform first- and second-assist duties in the operating room.
• Collaborate with perioperative nursing staff and surgical teams for safe, high‑quality care.
• Participate in a collaborative learning environment with mentorship across specialties.
• Maintain proficiency in evolving surgical techniques and perioperative best practices.
• Document encounters, operative notes, and findings accurately.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Support teamwork and excellence in a fast-paced surgical environment.
