Job summary

Albany Medical Center's Orthopedic and Robotic Surgical Services seeks a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the busy Perioperative Surgical team. You will work with surgeons and staff, gaining hands-on exposure to robotics such as DaVinci Xi, dv5, and Mako in Orthopedics.

The role offers weekday daytime hours with flexibility for four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts, and occasional weekend work. Location is AMC main campus in Albany, with some sites nearby.

Qualifications

• Licensed and registered as PA or NP in NY
• ACLS/BLS certification required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to adapt to evolving surgical techniques and perioperative care

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative care for surgical patients
• Assist surgeons across multiple specialties including robotic cases
• Perform first- and second-assist duties in the OR
• Collaborate with perioperative teams to ensure safe, high-quality care
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Document encounters and operative findings accurately
