Job summary

Surgicare of South Austin is seeking a Surgical OR Technician PRN to assist in the operating room under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will scrub, assist the surgeon, and support turnover between cases to ensure safe patient care.

The role requires graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program (preferred), 1 year OR experience (preferred), and valid BCLS certification. This position offers flexible hours as needed and comprehensive benefits through the facility.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (preferred).
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program as required per facility practice and state regulatory requirement; otherwise preferred.
• Valid BCLS certification required upon employment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate practical, technical, or specialized skills for the surgical technician role.
• Assist in preparing the operative suite by gathering supplies, equipment, and instruments.
• Maintain surgical asepsis in handling instruments, sponges, sutures, drains, needles, and dressings.
• Support turnover of OR suites between cases and ensure cleanliness of equipment and surfaces.
• Prepare procedure rooms for the following day and report needed items to supervisor.
