Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health’s Operating Room RN role delivers exceptional perioperative nursing care, coordinating with the surgical team to ensure patient safety from pre-op through discharge. Ideal candidates hold an associates or bachelor’s degree in nursing, current RN licensure, BLS/ACLS or PALS certification, and prior OR or critical care exposure.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in the applicable state.
• BLS and ACLS or PALS certification preferred at hire; must obtain prior to direct patient care.
• CNOR and SGNA are preferred but not required.
• Two years RN experience in Critical Care or OR internship experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment in the OR
• Observe the surgical procedure and assist to maintain a safe environment
• Manage nursing care of the patient within the OR and coordinate with the surgical team
• Provide pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care including discharge instructions
