Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, IA seeks an experienced Nurse Manager to lead perioperative services. You will supervise staff, coordinate patient care, and collaborate with physicians and leadership to ensure safe, cost-effective operations.

Under the Director, you’ll assist with budgeting, staffing plans, quality initiatives, and policy development, while mentoring teams and advancing a culture of clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• Current Iowa RN license.
• Bachelor degree in Nursing; management experience preferred.
• CNOR or alternative certification preferred.
• BLS within six weeks of hire; ACLS and PALS within six months.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and review policies and procedures with leadership.
• Support staff to ensure positive patient care experiences and escalate issues.
• Develop staffing plans for supervised areas with appropriate classifications.
• Supervise staff and provide education, orientation and support.
• Assist with annual operating and capital budgets and monitor performance.
