Job summary

SCA Health in Carmel, Indiana is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PreOp/PACU to evaluate patients before and after surgery, ensuring safe anesthesia recovery and optimal recovery plans. You will monitor vitals, administer medications, and collaborate with surgical teams to maintain patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include developing individualized care plans, performing pre/post operative assessments, and providing clear hand-off communication to the care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Current state licensure to practice as an RN.
• BLS/BCLS within 90 days of employment or current.
• ACLS within 90 days of employment or current.
• PALS if pediatric care is included within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status per facility policies.
• Interpret information from monitors and assess airway, cardiovascular, respiratory and neurological status.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Implement plan including managing recovery from anesthesia across various modalities.
• Provide hand-off reports to teammates with concise, pertinent information.
