Job summary

Houston Methodist seeks an experienced Perioperative Nurse Coordinator to lead OR operations, coordinate case scheduling, and serve as a clinical resource. The position requires a BSN, at least five years in the OR, and CNOR/BLS, with ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license in Texas (Texas BON) and permanent license within 60 days if relocating
• Five years RN experience in an operating room
• Six months in a leadership capacity (e.g., chair, charge nurse) preferred
• CNOR certification required (or equivalent)
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• ACLS preferred (per unit/service line)
• Strong communication and organizational skills for perioperative leadership

Responsibilities

• Lead perioperative workflow coordination and patient care quality initiatives
• Serve as liaison between physicians, vendors, anesthesia, and OR staff
• Provide nurse circulator or scrub support as needed and staff coverage planning
• Develop and implement staff education and competency programs
• Monitor and improve department performance metrics and financial stewardship
• Mentor and role-model professional practice within the OR team
