Job summary

Curry Health Network is seeking a Surgical Services Nurse Educator to lead perioperative education and ongoing staff development. The role includes onboarding, competency validation, and ongoing skill advancement to maintain high-quality patient care in the operating room.

The position collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia, pharmacists, and other care team members, participates in OR assignments and on-call rotation, and supports departmental education initiatives and policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Current Unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse Licensure is required.
• BSN strongly preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS.
• TNCC or NRP and STABLE certifications are preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in perioperative setting; experience as an educator preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perioperative Clinical Practice: provides patient care across the perioperative continuum and coordinates care planning.
• Staff Education and Orientation: designs, implements, and evaluates orientation for perioperative staff and contracted travel staff.
• Competency and Professional Development: develops continuing education and conducts competency assessments.
• Compliance and Department Support: supports Curry Health Network policies and regulatory standards and participates in quality improvement.
