Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Shreveport, LA seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive perioperative care in an OR/acute setting. You will work independently within the nursing process and collaborate with the care team to anticipate patient needs. Ideal candidates have a BSN, 1 year of related experience, and current RN license.

Required BLS; ACLS and PALS certifications are preferred. New nurses receive orientation and onboarding as part of CHRISTUS Health's competency program.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• 1 year of related nursing experience preferred.
• Current RN license in state of employment or multi-state license.
• Active BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of CHRISTUS competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation) for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments; monitors side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or caregivers.
