Job summary

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time Circulating Staff Nurse position in the Perioperative Services.

The role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient/family-centered care using the Watson Model of Care and requires coordination with the clinical unit team. The position emphasizes nursing process, SBAR communication, discharge planning, and adherence to hospital policies, values, and patient safety standards.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• California Nursing License required.
• CNOR preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to anticipate and plan care based on patient/family needs.
• Perform focused nursing assessments and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Provide age-appropriate care and apply current evidence to clinical decisions.
• Demonstrate effective SBAR communication during hand-offs and with the care team.
• Document care in the IPOC and follow unit and hospital policies.
• Collaborate with Care Managers for safe discharge planning.
• Evaluate nursing interventions and document patient outcomes.
• Supervise and coordinate ancillary staff, floats, and registry personnel.
