Job summary

Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs is seeking a Perioperative Support Specialist to assist in the PACU, OR, or GI Lab under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, ensuring smooth patient flow and maintaining a clean, well-equipped care environment. You will support nurses in preparing patients for surgery, help transport them safely within perioperative areas, and maintain essential equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication with nursing staff and patients.
• Basic computer literacy for charting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in safe, timely transport of patients between perioperative areas and discharge.
• Assist in cleaning, sterilization, setup and maintenance of equipment (monitors, suction, LMAs, laryngoscope blades).
• Clean operating room suites or procedure rooms between cases and assist with terminal cleaning as needed.
• Move equipment, supplies, and instruments to appropriate locations.
• Prepare rooms for the next patient and ensure a safe, organized care environment.
