Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a nonprofessional direct and indirect care provider to assist the nursing team in perioperative settings. Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of departmental clinical support or PCA orientation.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support or HeartSaver First Aid within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred: CNA or MA experience and prior patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative support activities to assist the nursing team caring for surgical/procedural patients (stable vitals, activities of daily living).
• Transports patients and cleans equipment; assists with patient transfers and positioning.
• Maintains inventory control, stocking supplies, and ensuring availability of instruments and equipment.
• Assists with room setup, sterile processing tasks, cleaning, and post-case/post-care cleaning.
• Documents patient data (weight, vitals, intake/outputs) and communicates changes to the RN.
