Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to respond to anesthetic needs and coordinate perioperative care. The individual administers anesthesia under the medical direction of staff anesthesiologists and may be on-call as required by the facility.

Responsibilities include formulating anesthetic plans, line placement, and meticulous documentation of anesthesia care, with emphasis on patient safety and ongoing professional development in pharmacology and techniques.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nurse Anesthesia required.
• SC RN- Advanced Practice licensure required.
• CRNA certification and registration as required by state law.
• In lieu of the Master’s Degree, CRNAs who graduated before 31 December 2003 may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Formulates anesthetic plan with anesthesiologist and discusses risks with patient.
• Performs line placement procedures including IV and arterial access.
• Documents pre-anesthesia assessment and intraoperative anesthesia care.
• Maintains competence in airway management, induction, blocks, and general anesthesia.
• Keeps up-to-date on anesthesia pharmacology and new techniques.
• Maintains a safe practice environment minimizing infection, injury, and equipment failure.
