Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors at the desk and directs them to appropriate areas.
• Coordinates admission documentation and assists with room assignments.
• Coordinates discharge and transfer of patients and prepares medical records for discharge.
• Answers telephone and relays messages to the appropriate personnel.
• Processes physician orders and notifies nurses of new orders.
• Coordinates patient activities and requisition of equipment or supplies from Central Supply.
• Makes appointments and arranges transportation as requested.
