Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors at the desk in a friendly, courteous manner and directs them to appropriate areas.
• Coordinates admission of patients and assists with room assignments when necessary.
• Coordinates discharge/transfer of patients and ensures medical records are prepared for transfer.
• Answers telephone and relays messages to appropriate personnel and departments.
• Assists nursing staff with obtaining needed equipment or supplies and coordinates with Central Supply.
• Makes appointments for patients and arranges transportation as requested.
