Job summary

Olympia Fields Hospital in Olympia Fields, IL seeks a Part-Time Unit Secretary in Labor and Delivery to support department communications, prepare records, and assist with indirect patient care.

You will enter and transcribe physician orders when CPOE is unavailable, compile patient charts, restock rooms, contact offices and departments, and ensure accurate data entry in the QS EMR system. Shift: Days, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 30 days and maintained current.
• Medical terminology proficiency preferred.
• Microsoft Office proficiency preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting or physician practice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with department communication and indirect patient care tasks.
• Enter and transcribe physician orders from records when CPOE is absent.
• Prepare and compile records in the Perinatal Unit and maintain log books.
• Contact physicians, patients, and other departments to facilitate patient care.
• Order supplies and forms for the unit; complete patient charts promptly.
• Restock patient rooms after transfer or discharge.
• Enter information into hospital computer systems and the QS EMR.
• Assist nursing staff with duties involving indirect patient care.
