Saint Anthony Hospital in Chicago, IL seeks a Unit Secretary to support nursing and medical staff in patient care. The position handles clerical tasks, order entry, and coordination of unit activities during the night shift.

You will transcribe orders, manage patient records, answer calls, order supplies, and maintain departmental data while ensuring courteous, compliant service and 1:1 safety monitoring when required.

Qualifications

• Computer knowledge with Windows and database systems.
• Medical Terminology course or equivalent.
• CPR Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe physician orders and perform computer order entry.
• Maintain patient records, unit data, admissions and transfers; photocopy as directed.
• Answer telephone lines, relay messages and direct calls.
• Requisition and order supplies and equipment; maintain stock inventories.
• Maintain departmental records and collect data for administrative/regulatory purposes.
• Prioritize work and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Observe patients requiring 1:1 direct supervision for safety.
