Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a highly skilled obstetric ultrasound technologist to perform high-risk obstetric ultrasound examinations and procedures using AIUM protocols, with clinical assessment and integration of patient history.

Responsibilities include maintaining patient records, differentiating normal from pathologic findings, and communicating results to physicians. Strong technical imaging skills and regulatory compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and Ultrasonography or Associate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• Ability to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Ability to implement 3D/4D imaging when medically applicable.
• Knowledge of various sonography equipment and related applications.
• Recommends changes to improve efficiency, workflows and patient safety.
• Ability to independently guide providers for invasive procedures.
• Experience with first trimester exams, low risk exams, detailed fetal anatomy surveys and CVS/amniocentesis guidance.
• BLS within 90 days (AHA requirements).

Responsabilités

• Records anatomical, pathological and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
• Maintains electronic patient charts and records to process sonographic data and observations.
• Maintains patient information in ultrasound documentation/reporting system, image storage, and EMR; obtains medical history prior to exams.
• Uses independent judgment to differentiate normal vs. pathologic findings during exams.
• Selects transducers, adjusts equipment and imaging settings for optimal fetal imaging.
• Recognizes equipment malfunctions and takes corrective action when possible.
• Explains studies and procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
