Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Perinatal Sonographer II to join our maternal-fetal medicine team in Allentown, PA. You will perform high-risk obstetric ultrasound examinations in accordance with established AIUM protocols and contribute to comprehensive patient care.

You will record findings, maintain electronic charts, explain procedures to patients, and assist the physician with invasive procedures when needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with Ultrasonography or an Associate’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• RDMS-OB/GYN certification is required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire; experience with 3D/4D imaging preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-risk obstetric ultrasound examinations per AIUM protocols with careful clinical judgment.
• Record anatomical, pathological and/or physiological data for physician interpretation and maintain EMR charts.
• Explain studies to patients and obtain pertinent medical history prior to exams; prepare preliminary reports.
• Assist provider with invasive procedures as needed and ensure patient safety throughout imaging.
