Valley Health Partners Community Health Center is seeking a Peri Sonographer II to conduct a variety of high-risk obstetric ultrasound examinations. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of sonography equipment and advanced imaging techniques, ensuring safety and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include recording anatomical data, maintaining electronic patient records, and advising on invasive procedures. A high school diploma and appropriate certifications are required, with a preference for those holding an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in relevant fields.

Qualifications

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer OB/GYN certification.
• Three years of experience in 3D/4D examinations.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of high-risk obstetric ultrasound examinations and procedures using the established AIUM protocols with moderate degree of individual judgment based on the clinical circumstances and patient conditions. Performs clinical assessment, diagnostic sonography examinations, and synthesizes information with patient’s medical history.

Education

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. Technical School Diploma Ultrasonography or Associate's Degree Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or equivalent.

Experience

• Required: Three years’ experience performing 3D/4D examinations and extended cardiac views.
• Preferred: Five or more years’ experience performing 3D/4D examinations and extended cardiac views.

Licensure & Certifications

• RDMS- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer OB/GYN upon hire
• CPR/BLS
• CLEAR – Cervical Length Education and Review within 180 days
• NT – Nuchal Translucency within 1080 days, Fetal Heart Monitoring Certification within 18 months

Special Skills

• Ability to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Ability to implement advanced imaging techniques when medically applicable (3D/4D).
• Knowledge of various sonography equipment.
• Recommends changes to improve efficiency, workflows, and/or patient safety.
• Ability to independently guide provider for invasive procedures.

Essential Functions

• Records anatomical, pathological and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
• Maintains electronic patient charts and records to process sonographic data and other pertinent observations made during the sonogram.
• Maintains patient information in the ultrasound documentation/reporting system, image storage system, and EMR. Prepares preliminary reports as requested by the physician.
• Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
• Selects appropriate transducers and adjusts equipment to optimize the images utilizing the available applications and options on the ultrasound machine, based on fetal position, anatomy, and depth of field.
• Recognizes equipment malfunctions and takes corrective action when possible.
• Explains medical studies and procedures to patients so they are well informed regarding the examination.
