Job summary

CommuniCare+OLE is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Perinatal department in West Sacramento. The position supports perinatal visits, initial patient intake, and coordination of care within a multidisciplinary team serving a primarily low-income population.

Strong emphasis on communication with insurers and care coordination is required. The role is full-time, nonexempt, with a typical schedule of 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Completion of M.A training program required.
• Phlebotomy certification strongly preferred.
• One year of MA experience in an outpatient setting preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Dari/Punjabi preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and basic laboratory duties as needed.
• Provide age-appropriate care to the clients of the clinic.
• Coordinate perinatal patient care, scheduling, referrals, and follow-ups.
• Communicate with Medi-Cal and other insurers to help clients obtain coverage.
• Ensure chart preparation and timely submission of lab, ultrasound and medical reports.
• Enter patient data in the computer to certify patient in a specific program.
• May be asked to travel between clinics to provide support.
