Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in California’s Woodland campus is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead the Labor & Delivery team and provide professional nursing care using the nursing process in line with established standards, policies, and the center's mission.

You will delegate, mentor, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compassionate care and effective discharge planning, while maintaining documentation accuracy and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in L&D, or successful completion of a KP L&D course (which includes basic fetal monitoring and NRP) or approved equivalent within prior 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead the health care team; delegate tasks appropriately and demonstrate accountability.
• Develop and contribute to individualized plan of care reflecting assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating outcomes.
• Ensure plan includes multidisciplinary planning, consultation, and education.
• Document care accurately and timely; utilize computer systems for patient care.
• Discuss patient findings with physicians; participate in departmental performance improvement.
• Maintain patient safety and adherence to standards of practice; manage discharge planning.
