Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in California seeks an experienced nurse leader to direct patient care in the Labor & Delivery unit, applying the nursing process and Kaiser standards to deliver safe, compassionate care to mothers and newborns.

You will mentor staff, coordinate multidisciplinary planning, document thoroughly, ensure discharge planning, and drive quality improvement while maintaining patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 1 year of recent L&D experience or KP L&D course within the last 12 months
• Active California RN license
• BLS certification
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certificate required at hire
• Fetal Monitoring Certification within 12 months of hire and PPSP for Nurses
• NRP and ACLS certifications

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process.
• Lead and mentor health care team members.
• Ensure patient safety using the five rights of medication administration and prevent infections.
• Develop care plans with multidisciplinary planning and education.
• Document accurately and use computer systems efficiently.
• Support discharge planning and patient/family education.
• Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
