Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a performance testing engineer to design, implement, and execute load and stress tests for enterprise applications. The role uses LoadRunner to create scripts, establish baselines, and identify bottlenecks across applications, databases, and infrastructure.

You will translate SLAs/KPIs into testing objectives, forecast workloads, support capacity planning, and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable solutions in AWS and Azure.

Qualifications

• United States Citizenship is required.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience; four years may substitute for formal education.
• Ability to work on client site in New Carrollton, MD five days a week.
• Two years of experience in performance engineering, performance testing, or systems performance analysis.
• Experience with LoadRunner for designing, executing and analyzing performance tests.
• Familiarity with SLAs, KPIs and non-functional requirements and translating them into testing objectives.
• Experience with cloud performance testing (AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as AppDynamics or Splunk to identify bottlenecks.
• Experience supporting mainframe and web-based performance systems.
• Experience with capacity planning frameworks and building performance models.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, scalability, and endurance test plans for enterprise applications and systems.
• Utilize LoadRunner to create test scripts, execute performance tests, and analyze system behavior under varying workloads.
• Establish performance baselines and identify bottlenecks across applications, infrastructure, databases, networks, and systems.
• Analyze test results and provide actionable recommendations to improve scalability, reliability, and overall system performance.
• Translate SLAs and KPIs into measurable performance testing objectives.
• Conduct trend analysis using historical performance data to forecast workloads.
• Support capacity planning by building performance models and assessing future growth demands.
• Perform performance testing within cloud environments, including AWS and Azure.
• Leverage monitoring/observability tools like AppDynamics and Splunk to diagnose performance issues.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, architecture, and operations to resolve bottlenecks.
• Prepare performance assessment reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders.
• Support both mainframe and web-based environments to meet performance goals.
