Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Performance Testing Engineer in Lanham, MD, to design, develop, and execute performance tests for enterprise applications. You will create LoadRunner scripts, analyze results, and identify bottlenecks across application, infrastructure, and database layers.

The role requires blending SLAs/KPIs into concrete testing objectives and forecasting workloads based on historical data. In addition, you will contribute to cloud performance testing in AWS and Azure, work closely

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience; 4 years may substitute for formal education.
• Ability to work on client site in New Carrollton, MD five days a week.
• 2+ years of performance engineering, performance testing, or systems performance analysis.
• Experience with performance testing and system tuning to meet scalability requirements.
• Experience with LoadRunner for designing, executing and analyzing performance tests.
• Bottleneck analysis and baselining performance.
• Understanding SLA/KPI and non-functional requirements and translating into test objectives.
• Forecasts/workload projections based on trend analysis and historical data.
• Familiarity with cloud performance testing (AWS, Azure).
• Experience with monitoring tools like AppDynamics or Splunk.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, scalability, and endurance test plans.
• Utilize LoadRunner to create scripts, run tests, and analyze results.
• Establish baselines and identify bottlenecks in applications, infra, DB, and network.
• Translate SLAs and KPIs into measurable testing objectives and forecasts.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, architecture, and operations teams to resolve issues.
• Prepare performance assessment reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders.
• Support performance testing in cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and both mainframe and web apps.
