Job summary

MSCCN is seeking an SVP/ED Performance & Resiliency Engineer for Merchant Services to enhance latency, throughput, capacity planning, and peak-event readiness across high-volume platforms. You will collaborate with application development and infrastructure teams to identify bottlenecks, implement durable fixes, and raise engineering standards through mentoring and cross-team leadership.

This onsite role in Tampa requires senior-scale expertise in cloud, Kubernetes, and modern observability

Qualifications

Senior-level performance engineering for distributed systems or SRE-like reliability engineering in production.
Strong cloud/container background (AWS + Kubernetes/EKS; ECS exposure beneficial).
Experience with modern observability tooling (e.g., Datadog, Dynatrace, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch).
KEDA and/or Karpenter: large plus.
Akamai: strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and mentor engineers across teams.

Responsibilities

Lead performance engineering efforts: load/stress/soak testing, capacity modeling, performance tuning and regression prevention.
Improve production readiness: observability, actionable alerting, incident triage, and root-cause analysis.
Strengthen resiliency patterns: timeouts/retries, circuit breakers, backpressure, graceful degradation, and failover readiness.
Drive safer releases via canary/progressive delivery and automated rollback patterns.
Optimize containerized workloads across EKS (primary) and ECS/other compute; drive autoscaling and right-sizing.
