Job summary

Bank of America is seeking an experienced Performance Testing professional to design, execute, and optimize load tests for complex banking applications. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure scalability, reliability, and production readiness of critical systems.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in Performance Testing or related technology discipline.
• Hands-on experience using LoadRunner, including VuGen script development, test execution, workload modeling, and results analysis.
• Strong understanding of Java, HTTP/HTTPS, web applications, APIs, and distributed architectures.
• Experience with programming/scripting languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or Shell scripting.
• Proficiency in SQL query development and database analysis.
• Working knowledge of performance testing methodologies: Load, Stress, Volume, Endurance, Scalability.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk, AWR).
• Knowledge of AI-assisted testing, automation techniques, and test efficiency improvements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute performance test scripts and workloads using LoadRunner/VuGen.
• Perform load, stress, endurance, volume, and capacity testing for banking applications, APIs, and enterprise platforms.
• Analyze performance results to identify bottlenecks across application, database, middleware, infrastructure, and network layers.
• Use monitoring tools to observe system behavior and diagnose performance issues.
• Collaborate with Development, QA, Infrastructure, Architecture, and SRE teams to resolve performance concerns.
• Develop SQL queries and automation scripts to improve testing efficiency.
• Support validation of Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) and SLOs; production performance expectations.
• Maintain performance test environments, data, dashboards, and reporting artifacts.
• Contribute to AI-enabled testing and observability initiatives within Performance Engineering.
• Build expertise in banking tech, distributed systems, cloud, and SRE toward senior engineering roles.
