Job summary

Applied Intuition in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Perception Autonomy engineer to develop and integrate AI/ML sensor algorithms for real-time autonomous sensing across diverse platforms.

You will design, develop, and rapidly integrate AI/ML sensor solutions, interfacing with multiple sensors and deploying on embedded Linux devices. Strong background in sensor fusion, Python/C++, and Linux tooling is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have MS or PhD or 5+ years of relevant experience in sensor algorithms, hardware, and HIL software integration.
• Experience with multiple sensor modalities (EO, IR, lidar, radar, sonar, acoustics, etc.) and sensor physics.
• Experience training and deploying ML algorithms (Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow) onto integrated systems (ONNX, C++ models).
• Familiarity with tracking basics (Kalman filters) and optimal sensor fusion.
• Experience with Linux and Docker.
• Ability to work with large datasets and learn new software with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and adapt AI/ML algorithms on a perception autonomy stack for multiple sensors.
• Create interfacing software to autonomously control sensors (EO, IR, acoustics, radar, RF).
• Collaborate with sensor, tracking, and autonomy teams for on-site DoD testing and demonstrations.
• Deploy containerized solutions to embedded Linux devices and collect performance data.
• Interact with DoD customers to understand use cases and triage needs.
