Job summary

Hershey Outpatient Surgery Center is seeking a Surgical/OR Tech for per diem shifts in Pennsylvania. You will support the surgical team by preparing rooms, passing instruments, and maintaining sterile techniques to ensure safe procedures.

Required are a Surgical Technology program, PA licensure, BLS, and 1 year OR experience. NBSTSA certification is preferred; per diem assignments offer flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• NBSTSA certification preferred.
• Active PA state licensure.
• BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a surgical or operating room setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes.
• Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and anticipating needs.
• Maintain a sterile field and monitor aseptic techniques throughout procedures.
• Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure accuracy.
• Handle specimens appropriately and prepare them for laboratory analysis.
• Clean and restock operating rooms after procedures.
• Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Education

Accredited Surgical Technology program

National NBSTSA certification preferred

Active PA state licensure

BLS certification

Minimum 1 year OR experience
