Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Unit Service Coordinator to coordinate and perform clerical tasks in the nursing unit. You will handle reception duties, collect patient data, assemble medical records, and assist with admissions and discharges. Occasional patient care tasks may be required.

Required: administrative experience, English communication, and a current BLS certification. Preferred: medical terminology knowledge and bilingual skills in English and Spanish or Vietnamese.

Qualifications

• Administrative/clerical experience, preferably in a medical setting.
• Able to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Current BLS certification upon hire (issued by the AHA).
• Read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Understanding of medical terminology.
• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform a broad range of clerical support in the nursing unit.
• Provide reception functions and collect/compile patient data.
• Assemble medical records and assist with patient admission/discharge.
• Perform routine patient care functions as needed.
