Job summary

Qualifications

• One year experience as a Certified Surgical First Assistant.
• Surgical Assist graduate from ARC/STSA accredited program; NBSTSA certification conferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in moving and positioning the patient.
• Determine, obtain and check supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Dons PPE, scrubs, gowns, and gloves according to aseptic standards.
• Set up sterile table with instruments, supplies and medications.
• Maintain sterile field and coach staff on aseptic technique.
• Assist with hemostasis and closure as directed by surgeon.
• Assist with room turnover and terminal cleaning for next case.
• Adhere to attire, infection control and compliance requirements.

Education

Certified Surgical First Assistant (1 year experience)

ARC/STSA Surgical Assistant program graduate

CAAHEP Certification (NBSTSA)
