Job summary

IVIRMA is seeking a Per Diem Surgical Center Nurse in Waltham, MA to provide high-quality pre-operative, intraoperative, and post-operative care as part of the surgical team.

The role requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, BLS/ACLS certification, and at least 2 years of surgical nursing experience. Proficiency in IV therapy and basic computer skills are expected. Per diem position with full benefits for 30+ hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
• BLS/ACLS – required.
• 2+ years surgical nursing experience - required.

Responsibilities

• Provides emotional support to the patient during the pre-operative, operative and post-operative stages.
• Performs all pre-operative and post-operative activities to coordinate surgical procedures.
• Pre-Operative - completes patient pre-operative assessment and documents per policy.
• Surgical - assists in setup, equipment checks, and patient transport; hand-off to recovery.
• PACU - receives patient with full report and pertinent history.
• Assesses patient on transfer from PACU and documents assessments.
• Monitors for condition changes and reports to physician.
• Reviews discharge instructions with patient/family.
• Assists in discharge readiness and continuity of nursing care.
• Follows infection control and safety precautions.
