Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a per diem Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive, and dysphagia dysfunction. The role includes conducting evaluations, planning and delivering therapy, counseling patients and families, and contributing to staff training.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, NYS SLP license, CCC-SLP, and at least 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

Master's degree or equivalent education in speech-language pathology.
New York State SLP license (NYS Education Department).
CCC-SLP certification by ASHA.
Minimum 1 year of speech-language pathology experience.

Responsibilities

Administers speech, language and cognitive evaluations to determine impairment.
Evaluates test results and medical info to plan treatment.
Counsels patients and families about communication disorders and coping strategies.
Provides ongoing counseling and education to facilitate communication.
Develops and recovers swallowing skills to support education and social roles.
Conducts in-service training for rehabilitation staff.
Records treatment reports and outcomes.
Forms and implements group therapy programs for patients and families.
Participates in conferences to update knowledge on treatment methods.
Performs other related duties.
