Qualifications

• Master's degree required in speech-language pathology.
• New York State SLP license required.
• CCC-SLP credential required or in process.

Responsibilities

• Administers speech/language and cognitive evaluations to determine impairment.
• Evaluates test results and medical information to plan treatment.
• Counsels patients on communication disorders and coping strategies.
• Provides counseling to families and caregivers to facilitate communication.
• Assists patients in recovering reliable communication and swallowing skills.
• Completes patient reports and billing records within deadlines.
• Maintains daily and monthly statistics and treatment records.
• Delivers in-service training for rehabilitation staff.
• Records and monitors treatment reports.
• Forms and runs group therapy programs for patients and families.
• Participates in conferences to update treatment methods and knowledge.
• Performs other related duties.
