Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside seeks a per diem Supervisor Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive, and dysphagia needs. The role also includes supervising the speech therapy team and managing a daily caseload on complex cases.

The ideal candidate holds a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology, NYS SLP licensure, and CCC-SLP certification, with at least one year of experience in clinical settings.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in speech-language pathology or equivalent.
• New York State SLP license; NY SED.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in SLP (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.

Responsibilities

• Administers speech/language and cognitive evaluations to determine impairment.
• Evaluates test results to guide treatment planning.
• Counsels patients and families on communication disorders and coping strategies.
• Provides counseling and education to facilitate communication with patients and caregivers.
• Develops and recovers communication and swallowing skills enabling educational, vocational, and social participation.
• Completes patient reports and maintains timely records and billing.
• Implements group therapy programs and staff training.
